KUALA LUMPUR (Aug 6): Southern Score Builders Bhd (KL:SSB8) said its 51%-owned unit has secured a RM146.53 million subcontract for a data centre project.

The subcontract project, described as “Electrical Package 3 Works (MV)”, commenced on July 27 with an expected final completion date of Jan 15, 2028, according to a bourse filing on Thursday.

The construction outfit’s majority-owned SJEE Engineering Sdn Bhd secured the contract from an undisclosed “local construction company”. The remaining 49% in SJEE is owned by engineer-turned-businessman Ngo Hea Bing.

Details of the data centre project or its location were not disclosed in the filing.

The job is expected to contribute to its earnings until its completion, the company noted.

Shares of Southern Score Builders ended 1.5 sen or 2.83% higher at 54.5 sen on Thursday, valuing the company at RM1.24 billion.
