KUALA LUMPUR (Aug 6): AWC Bhd (KL:AWC) said it has secured a RM23.08 million subcontract in relation to a data centre project.
The subcontract, for plumbing, silo tank and internal sanitary works, was awarded to its wholly owned unit Qudotech Sdn Bhd from an undisclosed Malaysia-incorporated joint venture (JV) between two construction companies, AWC said in a bourse filing on Thursday.
The subcontract started on April 24 and is expected to be completed by June 10, 2027, with preliminary works already underway pending finalisation of the agreement terms.
The location and details of the data centre project were not disclosed in the filing.
AWC noted that the identity of the JV and certain details of the contract are not disclosed due to confidentiality and non-disclosure obligations.
It said the two construction companies behind the JV are private companies principally engaged in civil engineering, construction and project management, including the development of large-scale infrastructure and specialised facilities.
AWC secured a similar subcontract for a data centre project in April, also for a Malaysia-incorporated JV between two private companies involved in civil engineering, construction and project management, which includes large-scale infrastructure and specialised facilities.
That subcontract was valued at RM22.18 million, with works having commenced on Jan 9 and scheduled for completion by Dec 27.
Shares of AWC closed a sen or 2.27% higher at 45 sen, valuing the company at RM154.8 million.
